“THE DAKSHEDTE TRUST” is a Registered Trust, registered in the year 1982. The Trust is a Non-Political and Non-Religious one and the objects for which the Trust is established is solely for educational and developmental and not for the profit but working for the marginalized.
Rev. S. A. Salins who was acclaimed as a “Pastor who did not have to Preach” was a man of few words but full of action. During his pastoral ministry at St. Andrew’s Church (Bangalore), he reamed with CASA and launched a supplementary Nutrition Feeding Programme to take care of Pre School-Children, Nursing and Expectant Mothers with a provision i.e. a bulgar wheat and soya bean salad oil in the year 1978. Identifying Siddapura Slum (Bangalore), he started serving the deserving poor through Dr. Mrs. Anna Abraham. Besides, he started sharing the provisions of CASA through a few more organizations; one of which is “ THE NEED TRUST” operated by Mr. Thomas in Austin Town (Bangalore). It was in this context Mr. Thomas helped Rev. S. A. Salins with the deed of trust to start “DAKSHEDTE”, Rev. S. A. Salins teamed with Rev. Edwin Walter, Bishop S. R. Frutado and Mr. Thomas and founded “THE DAKSHEDTE TRUST” and started community centric ministry in Moodabidri (Dakshina Kannada District) area. Subsequently to the demise of Mr. Thomas, Mr. Emerson Samuel was inducted on to the Board of Trustees of Dakshedte. After the demise of Bishop S R Frutado and Rev. S. A. Salins the reconstituted Board of Trustees of Dakshedte comprises of Rev. Edwin Walter, Mr. Emerson Samuel, Mr. Gunakar Salins and Alwyn Amanna. Later, in the year 2021 the existing trustees found the need of two more resource persons to the Board of Trustees, so they decided to induct Rev. Vijay Harvin and Mr. Ashwin Salins.

S. A. Salins.
