Tribute to the Founder

REV. S. A. SALINS

REV. S. A. SALINS:

  • He was a Pastor who did not have to preach
  • He was a Priest who practiced what he preached
  • His Pastoral Concerns knew no bounds and he was always prepared to walk an extra mile; asked or unasked either
  • Joy and sorrow, he took them in his stride and always wore a smile and made everyone happy
  • His dedicated service in Madikeri is ever green in the memories of people
  • His days in the Karnataka Auxiliary of the Bible Society of India has no parallels
  • The Basel Mission Christian Association continues to bask in his benevolence
  • Andrew’s outreach program in Siddapura Slum touched the lives of the down trodden and will be inscribed in the annals of history
  • The Supplementary Nutrition Feeding Program for the benefit of malnourished children and pregnant and lactating mothers with the assistance of CASA was most commendable
  • “DAKSHEDTE”, a little lamp he lit continues shedding its light for the benefit of the poor and marginalized to make them economically independent and socially dignified
  • And a few of us are striving hard to hand down his legacy to the generations to come
  • He was an embodiment of a life of “Sanctity and Sacrifice”, quite pleasing in the eyes of our Lord

“The purpose of, life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
